Welcome to the David North-Lewis Springfield Forge Website
David North-Lewis is a farmer turned blacksmith; he has recently sold his farm at Strawberry Bank in Devon where he had been running a forge as a supplement to his farm income. David has now moved to the small rural hamlet of Morwenstow in North Cornwall where Springfield Forge is situated within sight of the rugged Atlantic coastline.
Over the past 15 years or so David has made many types of things from gates and railings to candlesticks and door latches. These days he prefers to concentrate on the more creative aspects of his business and produces a wide range of decorative and functional household items as well as his wonderful organic gates and sculptures.
These pages give you a glimpse of the dramatic setting in which the forge is situated and pictures of the forge itself, as well as presenting examples of David's work.
Why not combine a coastal walk, a drink at The Bush Inn or a cream tea at the Rectory Farm tearooms with a visit to the forge, where you can see the blacksmith at work and look around the showroom.
